HISTORY BRIEF HISTORY OF GRACE ACADEMY INTERNATIONAL “Raising the standards for this Chosen Generation”  Grace Academy International was founded in 2005 by Al and Chantale Ferguson with hopes of raising the illiteracy and poor academic rates in urban communities. With strong convictions to make a difference in poverty stricken communities they endlessly sort the best educators, curriculum, and counselors to give these students opportunities for academic success.At GAI you will find a truly unique atmosphere and a philosophy fine-tuned from each year experienced. The administration has compassionate hearts and a ministry philosophy, which has created a caring, heart-centered school for students, parents, communities and faculty.Today, GAI is proud to be the Christian Academy in Miami Dade County to “raise the standard for this chosen generation”. We take seriously our obligation to be partners with parents in providing the best possible education for our students. From kindergarten to high school graduation, GAI is dedicated to bringing every student to his or her highest potential: academically, socially, and spiritually.
[ Back ] MISSION STATEMENT Grace Academy’s mission is to create a constructive learning environment that fuses together challenging curriculum with biblical principles in order to promote academic acceleration, intellectual stimulation, social awareness, and spiritual growth in all students. Our emphasis is to provide an enriched learning experience to a diverse population of students that meets their needs today and affords them tools for the future. STATEMENT OF FAITH According to the IRS, GAI must have a Statement of Faith. The directors and administration understands and does not expect all staff of GAI to believe or totally agree with the Statement of Faith, but all staff must be able to support and not oppose the Statement of Faith. The administration of GAI focus’ on the major—leaving the minor to individuals. GAI believes if one studies out the Word of God, they will be able to do so. The Bible is the inspired Word of God and instructs man in the daily living, attitudes and lifestyles pleasing to God. The gospel is Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. It is obeyed through repentance, water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus and infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking with tongues, as the Spirit of God moves upon us. EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY The educational philosophy of Grace Academy is based on a Biblical view of God, man, truth, and education. Since God created and maintains all things through His Son, Jesus Christ, the universe and all life are dynamically related to God and have the purpose of glorifying Him. This is especially true of man who was created in God’s image, different in kind from all other creation, with the unique capacity to know and respond to God personally and voluntarily. Because man is a sinner by nature and choice, however, he cannot, in this condition, know or honor God in his life. He can do this only by being born again through belief in the Gospel Message, Baptism in Jesus name and the receiving of the Holy Spirit thus be enabled to do God’s will, which is the ultimate purpose in life.The entire process of education is seen as a means used by God to bring the student into fellowship with Himself, to develop a Christian mind in him and to train him in Godly living so that he can fulfill God’s total purpose for his life. He must be taught the Bible so he may understand God as well as his own nature and role as a person created in God’s image. He must be developed and related to God as a whole person, spiritually, mentally, physically and socially. He must learn to see all truth as God’s truth and to integrate it with his own unique abilities and personality. He must interact with and be taught by parent and teacher models who are themselves born again and have this perspective of life.The authority for such an education comes both from God’s command that the children be taught to love God and place Him first in their lives, and from the fact that parents are responsible for the total education and training of their children. At the parents’ request the Christian school, along with the church, becomes a partner in giving this education.The purpose of Grace Academy International is to provide a Biblically integrated instructional program in a disciplined environment that encourages spiritual commitment and academic excellence.
